Anyone Else Having A Problem Getting New Releases From Amazon?

The main reason I have Amazon Prime is to get new releases on the day of release. However, this has not been the case for roughly 2/3's of the new releases I've gotten this year....most have shown up anywhere from a day to three days later!
August, however, is shaping up to take it to a whole other level:

Cherie Currie & Brie Darling - 5 days after release
Jesse Dayton - 13 days after release
Rodney Crowell - day of release
The Rails - six days after release
Sheryl Crow - no delivery...

I wonder why Jimmy Nicol did not "cash in" with his Beatles experience

Basically, from what I've read, Jimmy is now a recluse and living in Mexico with his wife. I know he had a contractor business many years ago that went under. I never read he is broke or anything. I say Jimmy probably made a decent living after his music career. I believe Jimmy's son is an audio engineer in the UK.

With all that said, a book by Nicol would be quite interesting. Especially how he achieved "temporary" big stage fame for a few days and it all goes away instantly. This would...

Your favourite songs that feature a girls name in the title?

Have to admit I am a bit of a sucker for a good tune about a girl.

There’s just something about them that can make a song and it’s lyrics feel genuinely heartfelt and personal (even those that may not actually be from the heart and where the name just fits a particular song or title) It just adds something special in my view.

What are your favourites?

I’ll start with this classic from 1970...

A whole bunch of people are wanting to discuss the ending of this film, and shouldn't have to try to hide everything in spoilers. So this is the place to do it.

I just finished blogging about this, I couldn't believe that I found a 48 CD collection on Rhapsody (aka Napster)! I would have NEVER been able afford this cd collection had I saw it in a retail store. The cd has everything, and when I say everything, I do mean EVERYTHING. From when he started (I think about 15 years old, till present. I am so grateful for streaming services! LOLOLOL

What do think? Possibly their best (rock) album. Has It's A Laugh and I Don't Wanna Lose You, which should have been a hit at the time, but maybe missed it by a year. Timing is everything when your trying to score a hit in the top40. And of course Fripp's on Don't Blame It on Love, plus Elton's Rock Of The Westies band. So, it's either Along The Westies or if you prefer Rock Of Red Ledgies.

Any electronic music recommendations?

I'm looking for recommendations of electronic music because I have a small amount of music in the genre that I really enjoy, but am having a hard time moving forward from there. Some releases I like are:

Ashra - New Age of Earth, Blackouts, Correlations
Jean-Michel Jarre - Oxygene
Vangelis - Blade Runner OST
C418 - Minecraft Volume Alpha (Video game OST)
Tim Hecker - Konoyo, Virgins
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells
Tangerine Dream - Phaedra...

Any opinions on the latest release of this album on vinyl (2017)?

Looking at it at the local shop but wanted an opinion from the membership first before putting my money down.

My guess is the general concensus would be Hounds Of Love / The Ninth Wave and I think it probably is my favourite although when I revisit the beauty and depth of Never For Ever and The Sensual World I do find they are still a challenge.

Likewise Aerial which I consider a lovely work. And 50 Words - very nice but does it hold a candle to the early albums?

I could never get on with Directors Cut at all; some mature renditions of...

Has CD player technology progressed so much in 30 years?

Bear with me: I'm ignorant about so much. I've only recently discovered this forum and like it very much, as there seems to be a nice combination here of deep knowledge about audio equipment and people who are friendly and not condescending to people like me who are interested but still learning. So, I venture to ask a question that I suspect will show off my ignorance.

Some quick background: I started a thread here a couple of weeks ago (my first; I happened across the Steve Hoffman...

Abbey Road 50th Anniversary Discussion. What Can We Expect?

Abbey Road's 50th anniversary is next year. If they're planning a deluxe anything for it, what could be on it?

There isn't really a needed mono mix.

Outakes are few and many were on Anthology.

Short of reinserting Her Majesty into the medley what's out there that would be compelling?

Where does The Edge fit on the Pantheon of Guitar Greats?

Going through an all U2 all the time phase for the last couple of months, and I was just wondering where The Edge fits in with the guitar greats, if at all? He certainly has a sound that is all his own. I also know it gets discredited because of the usage of effects. I don’t know a sliding scale from a pentatonic scale, but I know what I hear is different and unique and is distinct. So is he viewed as something special, or in the right band at the right time?

Songs that mention the recording process

Post the artist, the song and just the lines in the lyrics that pertain to the recording process.

Only rule: No count-ins or studio chatter that occurs BEFORE the song starts or AFTER it ends.

My examples:

Smoke On The Water (Deep Purple): "to make records with a mobile"

Is Everybody Happy? (Freddie Mercury): "I'm recording in a studio all night long"

Nuthin' Song (Alice In Chains): "Began this take at 7:38"

Nothing New Under The Sun (Thomas Dolby): "During the bounce"

The Bird & The Bee (Inara George & Greg Kurstin) "Interpreting The Masters Volume 2: Van Halen"!
